Video: Two held for harassing women in MP made to do squats on busy road

Madhya Pradesh police on Saturday forced two people to squat in the middle of a busy road for allegedly sexually harassing women, ANI news agency reported.

In a video shared by ANI, the two were seen holding their ears and doing squats on a street in Dewas. One of the policemen was also seen hitting them with a baton.

According to the 2019 National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) Annual Report, crimes against women in India increased by 7.3% from 2018 to 2019, and scheduled caste crimes also increased 7.3% over the same period. Among states, Madhya Pradesh now ranks sixth in crimes against women with 27,560 cases recorded last year, according to data.
