Two more health centres in Kannur get national certification


With two other health centers in the district achieving National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certification, Kannur became the first district in the state with the maximum number of hospitals with national accreditation.

Mattool Primary Health Center with a score of 95.8% and Munderi Family Health Center with a score of 92.1% are the new NQAS certified facilities in the district.

To date, 18 facilities in the district have received NQAS accreditation. The annual incentive will be 2 lakh for NQAS accredited PHCs and ₹ 10,000 per bed for other hospitals. NQAS approval is for three years.

Accreditation is granted based on parameters such as general administration and OP laboratory, patient services, staff efficiency, availability and distribution of drugs, clinical services, patient-specific services, control of infectious diseases, maternal and child health, control of lifestyle diseases and immunization services.
