He was “very lucky” to survive, said law enforcement officials who found golfing legend in the United States. Several famous personalities, including former US President Barack Obama, have wished Tiger Woods a speedy recovery. “By sending my prayers to @TigerWoods and his family tonight, here’s a speedy recovery for the GOAT of golf,” he tweeted. “If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s never to count Tiger.”
“Thoughts are with @TigerWoods and others involved wishing a speedy recovery and hope the injuries are not serious,” tweeted fellow golfer Ian Poulter.
“Get well @TigerWoods fast! Pray for yourself and your family. God is always in control. Stay strong,” basketball star Stephen Curry wrote.
“Everyone sends your prayers to Tiger Woods! He was just in a serious car accident. We all pray for his speedy recovery,” tweeted former NBA star Earvin “Magic” Johnson.
Legendary boxer Mike Tyson also wished Woods a speedy recovery.
“Fight @tigerwoods like the champion you are for your children and the world. Love and prayers,” he wrote.
No other vehicle or passenger was involved in the accident which occurred on a steep stretch of road known as a “hot spot” for high speed crashes in recent years.
“I will say that it is very lucky that Mr. Woods was able to come out alive,” said MP Carlos Gonzalez, the first law enforcement official to arrive at the scene.
Gonzalez found Woods trapped in his vehicle but conscious, appearing “calm and clearheaded” and able to identify with himself.
