Thousands of Israelis braved the cool and humid weather on Saturday night to extend months of protests demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Several thousand people gathered outside Netanyahu’s official residence in Jerusalem, the focal point of most protests.
A similarly sized crowd demonstrated outside Netanyahu’s private home in the upscale coastal town of Cesaria. Smaller gatherings were held at crossroads and overpasses across Israel.
The protests, which are now in their sixth month, appear smaller than in recent weeks. Local organizers could face a challenge to evacuate large crowds as winter arrives. Parts of Israel experienced heavy rains on Saturday.
Protesters say Netanyahu should quit amid corruption trial, accuse him of mismanaging the country coronavirus crisis.
The crisis hit the economy hard and caused unemployment to skyrocket. Many of the protesters are young people who have lost their jobs.
