Sandip Ray’s next film will feature the two iconic characters of the legendary filmmaker.
Two emblematic characters of the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray, Feluda the detective and Professor Shanku, the scientist and inventor, will meet and share the screen together for the first time in a film directed by the filmmaker and son of Maestro Sandip Ray. The initiative is part of the filmmaker’s centenary celebrations.
Talk to The Hindu Sandip Ray said he made half a dozen films and TV shows on Feluda and one film about Professor Shanku – Professor Shanku and El Dorado – in 2019. “Until now, I created Feluda and Shanku as different content. But bringing them together in one film is both stimulating and thrilling. I hope this film will remain memorable among the audience for a long time, ”said the filmmaker.

Mr Ray said the project is “untitled” and filming will begin after the situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic normalizes. The film will be produced by SVF and should be released by the end of 2021. “The film will be in Bengali with and we are in the process of selecting the best stories from Feluda and Professor Sankhu,” he said.
While Feluda is the iconic Bengali detective, whose cerebral abilities to solve complex crimes have dominated the imaginations of Bengalis for decades, Professor Shankhu is a scientific inventor who wishes to use his invention for the welfare of mankind. .
Feluda and Professor Shankhu and all the characters linked to them have been basically a nostalgia for every Bengali for decades. The filmmakers released the movie poster’s first look gives a clear idea of the action and fine elements that will be infused into the movie.
