Sampath Raj’s expulsion sought


Congressman R. Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy on Saturday called KPCC Chairman DK Shivakumar on Saturday and demanded the expulsion of former Bengaluru Mayor R. Sampath Raj from Congress for his alleged involvement in the violence against DJ Halli and KG Halli here August 11. Mr. Raj is now in judicial custody.

Pulakeshinagar MP R. Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy on Saturday submitted a petition demanding the expulsion of former mayor R. Sampath Raj from Congress to KPCC Chairman DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru.

Mr. Shivakumar asked the KPCC Disciplinary Committee to review Mr. Murthy’s letter requesting deportation.

Mr Murthy, who has sought justice for the damage done to his home during the violence, told reporters he had called for the eviction of Mr Raj and his aide and former adviser Abdul Rakeeb Zakir. Police have filed a complaint against the two of them for their alleged role in the violence.
