The railways plan to restart operations in the Punjab from November 23 with freight trains running at limited speed, according to a statement released on Sunday. It came after farmers in Punjab suspended their agitation over contested farm laws for 15 days

Northern Railways said in a statement that an interim plan for the restoration of rail services had been formulated.

According to the plan, freight trains will start running from 23 November with a maximum speed of 60 km / h due to safety and security considerations. The plan is subject to track safety clearances. The railways plan to run 17 pairs of evening trains from November 23 until the evening to November 29, depending on the schedule.
