For the protection of children and to secure their future from exploitation, parents, teachers and all other stakeholders should work together to defend and promote their rights, Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal said on Saturday. .

Interacting with a delegation of children and officials under the UNICEF banner, the Chief Minister insisted on the need for dialogues and to translate them into actions to build a better world for children where they will be safe from violence.

Mr. Sonowal asked the children to imbibe healthy habits, practice health and hygiene and respect the elders.

Securing the future of children is the responsibility of government, said Sonowal, adding that efforts have been made to ensure that every child is protected from violence and has access to affordable health care and food. nutritious in the state.

Responding to children’s questions, he said he would take initiatives to provide quality and affordable education to all children, especially those in vulnerable circumstances.

On another question, Mr Sonowal said the state government has taken steps to establish more than 100 high schools in the tea gardens.
