The sequel to the box office hit “Black Panther” could begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia in July 2021, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter Friday night.
The film was shelved due to the sudden and unexpected death of star Chadwick Boseman, who held the lead role.
Initially, Marvel had planned to begin production in March 2021.
Director Ryan Coogler will return to helm the feature film with Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett all set to reprise their roles.
Wright, who played Boseman’s younger sister Shuri, is expected to play a larger role in the feature film and possibly take on the role of Black Panther.
Disney, which owns Marvel, has previously indicated that we won’t need CGI to include the late Boseman in the film. Read the full report from The Hollywood Reporter.
