Actor Kartik Aaryan revealed on Sunday that he is set to star in filmmaker Ram Madhvani’s thriller “Dhamaka”. The film would mark the first collaboration between Aaryan and Madhvani, who has directed acclaimed films like “Neerja” with Sonam kapoor and Sushmita SenWebseries “Aarya”.
Aaryan, who turned 30 on Sunday, posted the film’s first look on Twitter. The animated poster features the “Love Aaj Kal” actor – clad in a blue suit, sporting long locks and wearing glasses – looking thoughtfully through a window at a burning Bandra-Worli Sea Link Bridge.
According to a press release, “Dhamaka” provides an overview of how a news channel works in the 21st century.
“Dhamaka” is supported by RSVP Films by Ronnie Screwvala, starring Ram Madhvani and Amita Madhvani. In the film, Aaryan will play a reporter who covers the live broadcast of a terrorist attack in Mumbai.
“It was a miracle scenario for me and put me on the edge of my seat throughout the storytelling. I knew this was the scenario that would give me the opportunity to explore another side of myself by. as an actor.
“I can’t wait to transport myself to Ram Sir’s world and see his vision come to life on the big screen. It’s also my first time collaborating with Ronnie and RSVP, and I can’t wait to take this trip.” , the actor said in a report.
Madhvani said that although “Dhamaka” is a thriller to begin with, there is a lot of emotion and drama in the storyline that leads to the adrenaline rush.
“As a director, I am inclined to human stories … This film required a young actor, with a certain brutality in space. Kartik, being one of the most talented actors in Bollywood, does the trick.” , he added. .
The director said the shooting amid the coronavirus pandemic would be difficult but the team will abide by rules set by the government.
“I have tremendous support from my producer, Ronnie Screwvala, and our production teams at RSVP and RMF, are all well versed with COVID protocols,” Madhvani said.
Screwvala, who has supported films like “Rang De Basanti”, “Jodhaa Akbar” and “Barfi”, said he was looking forward to collaborating with Madhvani and Aaryan for the first time.
“When Ram came to me with the script, I knew I couldn’t miss this one, and we had a similar reaction when we told Kartik about the script as well,” added the producer.
The film is slated for release next month, with directors planning a summer 2021 release.
