First Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has millions of fans thanks to his exploits on the cricket pitch, but in recent months he has drawn even more followers to his new venture – his personal YouTube channel, where he is seen talking to current and former cricketers.
In a recent video he uploaded, Ashwin was seen speaking to the legendary Inzamam-ul-Haq. While talking about various topics regarding the game and its evolution, the conversation came with current Pakistani skipper Babar Azam – who is widely counted among the best drummers in the world at the moment.
Although India and Pakistan are passionate rivals in the field of cricket, Ashwin left no stone unturned in addressing Babar richly, calling him a feast for the eyes.
“There is a great quality player who joined the Pakistani side after a long time and his name is Babar Azam. He looks like a million dollar player. It feels really good when you see Babar – it’s a feast for your eyes “
Ashwin and the legendary Inzamam were talking about the deterioration of Pakistan’s stick over the past decade which has contributed to their decline in world cricket. However, the rapid rise of Babar Azam is changing things for Pakistan – Ashwin and Inzamam agreed.
The two also discussed Babar’s frequent comparisons with Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Inzamam, himself a renowned drummer, felt that while Kohli was already a great modern player in the game, Babar still had a long way to go, before being counted alongside Kohli.
In 77 ODI, Babar scored 3,580 points with a phenomenal average of 55.93 while in 29 test games he scored 2,045 points at 45.45. Babar promises bright things for Pakistan as he is only 26 years old.
He’s also one of the top-ranked batsmen in the T20I, scoring 1,681 points in 44 games with an average of 50.93. He was also the winner of “man of the series” in the recently concluded PSL – propelling his team Karachi Kings to the title.
