Less than a week before the start of the planned tour in Australia, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was spotted at the gym preparing for the contest. He shared the photo on his social media account Tuesday with the caption “Fuel Up.”
Kohli can be spotted riding a bike, lifting weights, and doing other fitness exercises in photos he shared.
Kohli will only be part of the limited encounter and opening test in Adelaide, however, before returning home on paternity leave. Kohli and his wife Anushka sharma are expecting the birth of their first child in January 2021. Kohli is unlikely to return to Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions.
India will play three ODIs, as many T20Is, then play four tests. The series kicks off on November 27 in Sydney with the ODI competition where they also play the second match before traveling to Canberra for the final match. They play the T20I Series opener again at the Manuka Oval before returning to Sydney for the remaining two matches.
The series of tests begins on December 17 with the Day-Night competition in Adelaide, the first of its kind involving both nations and India’s first abroad. The second test, which starts on December 26, will take place in Melbourne, followed by the New Years test in Sydney. The long tour would end with the final test at the Gabba.
