All preparations were made for the first phase of elections for panchayat bodies in 21 districts of Rajasthan on Monday, an official said.
According to state election commissioner PS Mehra, around 72.38 lakh people will be eligible to vote on Monday in the panchayat samiti and zila parishad polls, for which nearly 25,000 MVE will be used in 10,131 polling stations.
About 50,000 employees will be deployed for the ballot boxes, he said, adding that people will be able to vote from 7:30 am to 5 pm.
Mr Mehra called on candidates and their supporters to strictly follow coronavirus guidelines issued by authorities.
In the first phase, the elections will be held in the districts of Ajmer, Banswara, Barmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh, Rajsamarh, Churu, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh, Rajsam. , Tonk and Udaipur.
The elections will take place in four phases and the count will take place on December 8.
