A day after the BJP and AIADMK announced that their alliance would continue in the state’s 2021 assembly elections, BJP leaders here on Sunday expressed confidence in the election seats winning.
At the “ Vetrivel Yatra ” headed by state president L. Murugan here, BJP national president Mahila Morcha, Vanathi Srinivasan, said party workers are working hard to realize the party’s dream of winning seats in the elections to the Assembly.
Claiming that the “Vetrivel Yatra” was having a ripple effect across the country, CN Ashwanth Narayan, Karnataka’s chief deputy minister, urged people to support the BJP to bring more development to Tamil Nadu.
“The ‘Vetrivel Yatra’ aims to unite the people of Tamil Nadu. It rekindled the enthusiasm of the young workers of the BJP and, at the same time, gave sleepless nights to those who oppose it, ”said Mr. Murugan.
Alleging that the president of the DMK, MK Stalin, was behind Karuppar Koottam, he accused the legal wing of the DMK of extending its aid to the leaders of the movement. “Corruption and the DMK are brothers and sisters. The DMK forgets its history of corruption while blaming others for it. The people of Tamil Nadu are waiting to give an appropriate response to the DMK in the Assembly ballot, ”he said.
Mr. Murugan urged the state government to announce a public holiday in the state for Thai Poosam. He will travel to Palani on Monday.
In Tiruppur, actor-politician Kushboo Sundar and BJP leader Pon. Radhakrishnan courted the arrest for attending the “Vetrivel Yatra” public meeting held on Sunday.
