Six people were killed after their car collided with a tanker in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.
The accident took place around 2 a.m. when the car struck the stationary tanker on the side of a road near a gas pump in the Talavali Chanda area, they said.
The car was completely damaged and its six occupants died at the scene, an official from the Lasudia police station said.
The victims, all residents of Indore and between the ages of 18 and 28, were on their way to the town from the Manglia area on the outskirts of Indore, he said.
The bodies were sent to a government hospital for an autopsy.
Those who died have been identified as Rishi Pawar, Suraj, Chandrabhan Raghuwanshi, Sonu Jat, Sumit Singh and Dev, the official said.
